Managing Building Blocks

Learn how to add, reorder, edit, reuse, and remove blocks on your pages using the Page Builder.

Where to Find Your Blocks

In Breedpost, the Building Blocks section (marked with a spanner icon) appears in the editor for most content types, including:

• Home
• General Pages
• Breedings
• Articles

Inside this section, you'll see a field titled blocks. This is the Page Builder, where you can stack different sections to build your page layout.

Adding a New Block

1. Click the + Create New button
2. Choose the block type you want to add
3. A blank version of that block will appear in the drawer
4. Fill in the fields as needed (e.g. heading, text, image, CTA)

Reusing a Block (Add Existing)

If you’ve already created a block on another page, you can reuse it:

1. Click + Add Existing
2. Search for the block by name or scroll through the list
3. Select the one you want

This inserts a linked block — edits to it will update it everywhere it's used.

Reordering Blocks

To move a block:

• Hover over the block
• Click and drag the handle on the left
• Drop the block into the new position
• Save the page

Editing a Block

To make changes:

• Click on the block to expand it (opens in the draw on the right hand side of the screen)
• Edit any of the fields
• Click Save in the top-right corner to apply your changes
• Save your main page too

Removing a Block

To remove a block from the page:

1. Click the X icon in the right hand side of the block
2. Save the page

Previewing Your Page

After saving, visit your site to see the updates.

• Most changes appear immediately
• If not, try refreshing the public page

Working with blocks globally

You can also view and manage all blocks across your site by expanding the Blocks section in the right-hand sidebar of the Breedpost app.

This shows a list of all blocks you've created, grouped by block type (e.g. Banner, Gallery, Image + Text). When you click on a block type, you'll see a table of all blocks of that kind in the main Page area.

Most block types appear in a simple table view, but some — like the Banner block — are displayed with images for easier visual reference.

This is especially useful if you want to update shared blocks like banners or footers without opening individual pages.
