Content Management

Breedings

Breedings are used to announce litters and present the pedigree of a pairing. A Breeding page can include parents, pedigree information, building blocks, and optional content like galleries or testimonials.

Info

Breedings can be used for dogs, cats, horses, goats, or any other animals. They are most often used to advertise upcoming or current litters.

Status

Set the status of the breeding (e.g. Published, Draft). Only published pages are visible on your live site.

Page Heading

The main heading for the breeding page (H1). This is usually the pairing, e.g. Bronco × Blue.

Tip

Keep the H1 clear and specific (Pairing + Breed is a good pattern), e.g. “Bronco × Blue — Labrador Retrievers”.

URL Slug

The unique path for the breeding page.

Tip
Use descriptive, lowercase, hyphenated slugs and include the year at the end for clarity and SEO. Examples:

  • bronco-x-blue-labrador-litter-2025
  • ragdoll-luna-x-max-2024
  • maine-coon-ivy-x-orion-litter-2026

Date of Birth

Enter the litter’s date of birth (if known).

Info

If the litter hasn’t been born yet, you can leave this blank or add the expected date.

Summary

A short introduction used on listing pages.

Tip

The summary is also shown in list previews, so keep it concise and clear.

Background

Select a background style for the breeding page.

Hero Section

A Breeding page can begin with a Hero Section, which includes your main heading (H1), introductory text, and an optional call-to-action. This gives the page a clear structure and ensures it has a primary headline for SEO and accessibility.

After the Hero Section, you can add whichever building blocks best suit your breeding page — gallery of the litter, testimonials, contact/application links, or anything else you like.

Fields include:

  • Image – Optional hero image.
  • Hero Image Width – Control how wide the image is displayed.
  • Hero Image Position – Choose the image position relative to the text.
  • Background – Select a background style for the hero.
  • Page Heading – The H1 (see above).
  • Introduction – Introductory text below the heading.
  • CTA Button – Add a call-to-action (e.g. Apply Now or Contact).
Make your breeding clear with a Hero Section

The Hero Section is recommended on Breeding pages. It introduces the pairing, sets the tone, and can link directly to your application or contact form.
See Hero Section layout options →

Building Blocks

Add as many blocks as you like below the hero — galleries, testimonials, accordions, lists, etc.

Pedigree

Parents

  • Father – Select an existing sire or create a new one.
  • Mother – Select an existing dam or create a new one.

Tip

Always check for existing entries first to avoid duplicates. When creating new parents, complete the minimum required fields: Status, Pedigree Name, URL Segment, URL Slug, and Gender.

Pedigree Options

  • Publish Pedigree – Show or hide the pedigree on the page.
  • Generations – Choose 3 or 4 generations.
  • DesignDefault (table-style) or Tree.
  • Position – Place the pedigree at the end of the page (below building blocks) or at the top of the page (above building blocks).
  • Display Thumbnails – Show images in the pedigree.
  • Display Coat – Show coat information.

Tip

“Tree” is helpful for quick visual scanning; “Default” table is compact and suits longer names. If you use many images, enable thumbnails sparingly to keep pages fast.
