Content Management

Pages

Pages are the core content of your site outside of the Homepage. They include your About page, Contact page, and any other pages you choose to create.

Every page can be added to your navigation, and you can build them out with flexible building blocks. You can also place Individuals, Breedings, or Articles lists on any page — this is how visitors navigate to those collections.

Most pages should be assigned to a Section so they appear in your navigation. In some cases, you may choose not to assign a page (for example, linking directly to a Privacy Policy), but this is less common.

Info

Pages don’t need to include Individuals, Breedings, or Articles lists. You can create simple content pages with text, images, and other blocks as needed.

Editing a Page in Breedpost

Structure of a Page

Each page includes the following fields:

Status

Set the status of the page (e.g. Published, Draft). Only published pages are visible on your live site.

The label used for this page in your site’s navigation menu.

Tip
The menu label doesn’t have to match the Page Heading or URL Slug exactly.
For example, your Page Heading might be “Our Champion Pugs,” the slug our-champion-pugs, and the menu label simply “Champions.”

URL Slug

The unique path for the page URL.

Tip
Keep slugs short, lowercase, and descriptive for SEO.
Examples:

  • maine-coon-litters for a Litters page
  • our-champion-pugs for an Our Champions page
  • male-border-collies for a Males page

You can change a slug later, but it’s best to set it correctly from the start to avoid broken links.

Info
The slug field is URL-friendly. Spaces and capital letters are automatically converted into lowercase with hyphens (e.g. “Our Champions” → our-champions).

Section

Assign the page to a section for navigation.

Tip
Sections define the structure of your site’s menu. Assigning a page to a section ensures it appears in your navigation.

Hero Section

Optional, but recommended. A page can begin with a Hero Section to introduce the content.

Fields include:

  • Image – Optional hero image.
  • Hero Image Width – Control how wide the hero image is displayed.
  • Hero Image Position – Choose the position of the image relative to the text.
  • Background – Select a background style for the hero section.
  • Page Heading – The main heading for the page (H1). This should clearly describe what the page is about.
  • Introduction – Introductory text that appears below the heading.

Tip
The Hero Section creates the visible top of your page. Every page should have exactly one H1 for SEO and accessibility. For more detail on layout options, see Hero Section →

Building Blocks

Add as many blocks as you like below the hero — galleries, testimonials, lists, accordions, and more.

SEO & Social Media Fields

Title tag, meta description, Open Graph image.

Tips for Creating Pages

  • Use a clear, descriptive Page Heading (H1)
  • Add Individuals, Breedings, or Articles lists to create dynamic pages for those collections
  • Keep your structure consistent so visitors can navigate easily
  • Use SEO & Social Media fields to improve visibility in search and social sharing
