Different ways to promote a litter on your homepage

Overview of the different building blocks you can use to highlight upcoming or available litters on your Breedpost homepage.

There isn’t just one way to advertise a litter on your homepage in Breedpost.

Depending on how prominent you’d like the announcement to be, you can use a banner, a content block, or a dynamic list that updates automatically.

Below are several approaches you can use. Each method links to its own step-by-step guide.

1. Use a Breedings List Block (Automatic and Structured)

If you have already created breedings in the system, this is the most structured approach.

A Breedings List block:

  • Displays selected breedings
  • Links directly to each breeding page
  • Can show hero image and summary
  • Updates automatically when you edit a breeding

This is ideal for featuring:

  • Available puppies or kittens
  • Upcoming litters
  • Current breedings you want highlighted

2. Add a Banner Block (Bold and Immediate)

A Banner block works well if you want a strong visual announcement at the top of your homepage.

You can include:

  • A background image
  • A heading (e.g. Upcoming Litter – Due May 2026)
  • A short description
  • A call-to-action button linking to your breeding page or application form

This is best for:

  • Limited availability
  • Deposit open announcements
  • Time-sensitive promotions

3. Use an Image and Text Block (Flexible Layout)

An Image and Text block allows for a softer, more integrated announcement.

You can:

  • Place the image left or right
  • Include more descriptive text
  • Add a button linking to the breeding or contact page

This approach works well if you prefer the announcement to feel part of your homepage flow rather than a bold highlight.

4. Display an Articles List (Blog-Driven Updates)

If you publish articles about your litters, you can display them on your homepage using an Articles List block.

This is useful for:

  • Birth announcements
  • Litter updates
  • Behind-the-scenes posts
  • Development milestones

It combines homepage visibility with SEO-friendly content.

5. Showcase the Parents

You can also use the Meet the Parents block to visually highlight the sire and dam.

This works well:

  • Beneath a banner
  • Alongside a breeding announcement
  • As a standalone feature section

It adds visual interest while reinforcing pedigree credibility.

You Can Combine Methods

You are not limited to one approach.

For example, you might:

  • Place a Banner at the top
  • Follow it with a Breedings List
  • Add a Meet the Parents section below

Breedpost’s building block system allows you to structure your homepage in a way that suits your breeding program.

If you are unsure which approach to use, start simple and expand as needed.
